1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Opkaido LLC ("Opkaido," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit Opkaido.io (the "Site"), submit a contact or scheduling request, sign up for our email list, or pay for a service.

This policy applies only to Opkaido.io and any subdomains we operate. It does not apply to third-party websites we link to, even when those links appear on the Site.

2. Information we collect

We collect only what we need to respond to you, deliver our services, and run the Site.

2.1 Information you give us

  • Contact form. When you submit the contact form, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message.
  • Email list. When you subscribe to our email list, we collect your email address and, if you provide it, your name. Subscription is opt-in; you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
  • Scheduling. When you book a call through our scheduling tool, the scheduler collects the information you enter, which typically includes your name, email address, the date and time you select, and any answers to intake questions. That information is hosted by the scheduling platform under its own privacy terms; we receive a copy.
  • Payments. When you pay for a service through our payment processor, the processor collects the payment details directly. Opkaido does not see, handle, or store your full card number, CVV, or bank account number. We receive transaction metadata such as your name, email address, the amount, the item purchased, and a confirmation reference.

2.2 Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, our hosting platform automatically logs basic technical information for security, fraud prevention, and uptime monitoring. This typically includes your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you view, and timestamps. This information is not used to build a profile of you or for advertising.

2.3 What we do not collect

We do not run analytics tools (such as Google Analytics), advertising pixels, or cross-site tracking on Opkaido.io. We do not buy data about you from third parties. We do not collect sensitive categories of personal information such as government identifiers, health information, or precise geolocation.

3. How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

  • respond to your inquiry or scheduling request;
  • prepare for and deliver consulting services you have engaged us for;
  • send the email content you have subscribed to;
  • process payments and keep records required for tax, accounting, and audit purposes;
  • maintain the security and integrity of the Site;
  • improve the Site, our services, and our communications.

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, automated decision-making with legal effects, or sale to data brokers.

4. How we share information

We share information only with the service providers we use to operate the Site and the business, and only to the extent necessary for them to perform their function. The categories are:

  • Hosting provider. Hosts the Site and stores form submissions.
  • Customer relationship and scheduling platform. Manages contact records, the scheduling tool, and any email communications we send to subscribers.
  • Payment processors. Handle payments and store transaction records.
  • Bookkeeping and accounting platform. Stores financial records associated with payments and engagements.
  • Professional advisors. Our accountant, attorney, and any other professional advisors we engage, when their work requires limited access to relevant records.

Each of these providers has its own privacy practices. We choose providers that meet reasonable industry standards for security and data handling.

We may also disclose information when required by law, court order, or valid legal process; to protect our rights, property, or safety, or the rights, property, or safety of others; or in connection with a sale, merger, or transfer of substantially all of our business assets, in which case the recipient will be bound by terms at least as protective as this policy.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

Opkaido.io does not use analytics or advertising cookies. The only cookies set when you visit the Site are essential cookies needed for the Site to function. These typically include session cookies, security tokens, and any cookies set by embedded scheduling or payment tools when you interact with them inside their iframe.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Doing so may break the contact form, scheduler, or payment flow but will not block you from reading the Site.

If we ever add analytics or advertising tools, we will update this policy first and, where required, present a consent banner before any non-essential cookies are set.

6. Data retention

We keep information only as long as we have a reason to. Specifically:

  • Contact form submissions. Kept while we are working on your inquiry, then archived for up to three years for records.
  • Email list. Kept until you unsubscribe; we delete your address from the active list within a reasonable period after unsubscribe.
  • Scheduling records. Kept by the scheduling platform under its retention rules; on our side, we keep notes from calls only as long as the related engagement is active or required for tax purposes.
  • Payment records. Kept for at least seven years to comply with federal and California tax recordkeeping rules.
  • Server logs. Rotated by our hosting platform on its standard schedule, typically thirty to ninety days.

When we no longer need information, we delete it or de-identify it.

7. How we protect information

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information, including encrypted connections (TLS) for data in transit, vendor selection that requires industry-standard security controls, and least-access practices for our internal records. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify you as required by California law.

8. Your privacy rights

8.1 California residents (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, gives you the following rights with respect to your personal information.

  • Right to know. Request a copy of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of recipients.
  • Right to delete. Request that we delete personal information we have collected, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Right to correct. Request that we correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to limit use of sensitive personal information. Opkaido does not collect sensitive personal information beyond what is incidental to a contact form or payment. You may still submit a request.
  • Right to opt out of sale or sharing. Opkaido does not sell personal information and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. There is nothing to opt out of, but the right exists.
  • Right of non-discrimination. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

To exercise any of these rights, email contact@opkaido.io from the email address of record, or write to the mailing address above. We verify your identity by responding to your email of record and confirming additional information we already have on file. Authorized agents may submit requests on your behalf with written authorization. We respond to verifiable requests within forty-five days, with a one-time forty-five-day extension when reasonably necessary.

8.2 Other US states

Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws, including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and others, have similar rights to those described above, including rights of access, deletion, correction, and opt-out where applicable. To exercise these rights, use the same contact channel above and identify the state where you reside.

8.3 Global Privacy Control

We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as an opt-out signal under California law. Because we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, the practical effect of GPC on Opkaido.io is limited, but the signal is treated as a request to opt out of sale or sharing.

9. Children's privacy

Opkaido.io is not directed to children under the age of thirteen, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under thirteen. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it. If you believe a child under thirteen has provided personal information to us, contact us at contact@opkaido.io and we will investigate promptly.

10. Third-party links

The Site may contain links to third-party websites and services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. Review the privacy policy of any third-party site you visit.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always posted at this URL with the effective date at the top. Material changes will be communicated to active email subscribers in advance of taking effect. Continued use of the Site after the effective date of an update means you accept the updated policy.
